David Worledge, PhD, Chief Scientist/Founder
Dr. David Worledge, Chief Scientist of Asset Performance Technologies, received his Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham, UK, in nuclear physics in 1970. He brings 30 years experience in plant systems analysis, reliability data and maintenance technology development, and risk assessment, including nearly 14 years as an EPRI Program Manager at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Additionally, he is the creator of the PRO-M idea, process, software, and database for estimating the effects of preventive maintenance on equipment failure rates. He has been involved in the design, development, and refinement of this product for the past 14 years, including training and installation at numerous customer sites. David currently chairs an American Petroleum Institute (API) standards group, “PM Databases and Task Justification.”
David is the former general manager of the Systems Reliability Service of the UK National Center of Systems Reliability and is an internationally recognized expert in plant reliability. The UK National Center of Systems Reliability provided consulting services and reliability data to oil and chemical processing companies such as Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Det Norske Veritas, Dupont, and Monsanto. David has chaired several International Atomic Energy Agency expert committees, consulted for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC), and the Lawrence Livermore and Argonne National Laboratories. He has published more than 120 professional papers and conference contributions.
Glenn R. Hinchcliffe, PE, CMRP, Chief Engineer/Founder
Glenn Hinchcliffe, Chief Engineer of Asset Performance Technologies, is a recognized consultant and author in the reliability maintenance arena. He has over 30 years of direct experience in organizational and maintenance optimization with extensive background and experience in plant maintenance, especially power generation and distribution both for the US utility market and for EPRI. He specializes in the application of reliability centered maintenance (RCM) and has co-authored the leading industry reference – “RCM – Gateway to World Class Maintenance”. Mr. Hinchcliffe along with Dr. David Worledge are the co-developers of the EPRI PMBD (Preventive Maintenance Basis Database) and PRO-M, APT’s advanced maintenance software tool. Glenn is a registered professional engineer in the state of New Mexico and is recognized by the Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) as a CMRP – Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional. Glenn’s life work and achievements have been recognized by the National Registry of “Who’s Who”.
Mark S. Benak, CEO
Mark Benak, CEO of Asset Performance Technologies, is a technologist, entrepreneur, and angel investor with over 23 years experience in engineering, business development, and company building. In addition to his current duties at APT, he also serves as Board Chairman for Incitor, Inc., a novel developer of synthetic enzymes for algal and biofuels. Previously, Mark completed consulting projects through his own company Southwest Solutions House LLC in the areas of economic development in New Mexico, business management, recruiting and retention, and market validation for new medical technologies. Prior to Southwest, Mark was part of a team that founded and operated InLight Solutions, Inc., an Albuquerque based medical technology startup whose mission is to provide optical solutions for life sciences applications. Before InLight, Mark was a staff scientist with the institute for fluid mechanics (LSTM) at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg. Prior to LSTM, Mark was a research engineer with Daimler-Benz AG in Germany. Mark received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering.
Carlos Cashman, Board Chairman/Founder
Carlos Cashman has worked with numerous successful start-ups as an executive, founder, investor, and advisor in the US and abroad for the last 16 years. He is currently an active angel investor and involved with several charities related to promotion of global peace and education. Carlos serves on the Board of Directors of SecretBuilders.com, an immersive online educational world for children, as well as Asset Performance Technologies, an advanced data and analytics provider for heavy industrial equipment he co-founded in 2003. In 2005 he co-founded CourseAdvisor, a leading Search Engine Marketing firm in the post-secondary education industry which was sold two years later to the Washington Post. CourseAdvisor was designated one of the fastest growing companies in New England and voted one of Boston’s Best Places to Work in 2007. The first company Carlos founded, Opus360, went public on the NASDAQ in 2000 and was sold in 2001 to Artemis International. Carlos attended MIT on full scholarship.
