APT’s PRO-M v8.0 Selected by Nextera Energy’s Seabrook Station for PM Templates

Nextera Energy Anticipates Improved PM Program Evaluation using the PRO-M Solution

Asset Performance Technologies, Inc. (APT) announced today that Nextera Energy’s Seabrook Station nuclear power plant has selected the PRO-M v8.0 solution to assist with ongoing improvement of its PM programs. According to David Worledge, CEO of APT, “We are very pleased to work with Seabrook Station in this regard. The APT Asset Strategy Library has its origins as the EPRI PM Basis Database but has grown much further in terms of the number of available templates and the tools available for analysis, the PRO-M solution. Seabrook Station now has significantly enhanced capabilities for reviewing and maintaining the PM programs for the majority of its balance of plant equipment.”

APT’s PRO-M v8.0 solution relies upon the APT Asset Strategy Library (ASL), the world’s largest library of asset strategy templates for industrial equipment. The ASL is currently in use in 84% of the nuclear power generation facilities in the U.S., as well as Japan and South Korea, and was recently validated in the oil and gas industry. It comprises over 320 PM templates addressing a broad range of infrastructure equipment (pumps, valves, motors, compressors, etc.) that are universally applicable to nearly all industries. With in-depth failure mode tables (approximately 60 modes per template) and PM effectiveness mapped to each mode, the ASL forms the basis for APT’s PRO-M optimization tools. In addition to providing the reliability basis for its PM recommendations, PRO-M easily estimates the reliability, availability, and business value added by each PM task as well as by the overall PM program, comparing expert-recommended PM plans with existing or new plans at your facility.

(APT) and its partners, Meridium, Inc. and the Marathon Consulting Group, for its RCM project at Suncor’s upgrading facilities in Ft. McMurray AB, Canada. APT will use its PRO-M software and methodology to expedite the RCM facilitation and analysis work, resulting in optimized PM recommendations based on the highest value PM activities for all equipment in scope. Using Meridium’s RCMO software, Marathon personnel will implement the RCM recommendations into Suncor’s SAP data system.
