The Caddo Parish School Board was given six semifinalist candidates for the superintendent position.
School Board President Jessica Yeates called a special session on Tuesday to hear an update from McPherson & Jacobson, LLC on the superintendent search and to select finalists for interviews.
Six candidates were presented, including one local:
- Nia Campbellof Denver, Colo.
- Keith Burtonof Shreveport, La.
- Thomas Rogersof Memphis, Tenn.
- Fateama Fulmoreof New Orleans, La.
- Cheryl A. Proctorof Portland, Ore.
- Justin H. Hunterof Bargersville, Ind.
McPherson & Jacobson, LLC was hired to conduct an extensive nationwide search for superintendent candidates.
According to a press release from Caddo Parish Public Schools, the results of nearly 700 community surveys and stakeholder meetings have been compiled and reviewed. Participants were invited to hare their thoughts on the qualities and priorities they believe are most important in a new superintendent.
The feedback received from the surveys will play a crucial role in guiding the Board as they work to identify a leader who embodies the district’s values and is committed to driving educational excellence.
The Board has set a goal to select the new superintendent by October 1. Updates on the process will be posted on the district's website.
